#Together Memorable Memories with HOUSING.com
A pessimist sees the difficulty
in every opportunity, and an optimist sees an opportunity in every difficulty. Being
optimistic isn’t always being happy. It’s taking what the world throws at you
and saying I am not going to get down. However, these things are easier said
than done! People say choose to be optimistic, because it feels better, but
when one is going through a difficult phase in life, these sayings fall on deaf
ears. Though it’s difficult to be optimistic all the time, sometimes reminiscing
about even a few moments can get us back on the track. It’s one of those few
happy memories, spent together with loved ones which give us the courage and
hope to get back on the track. I would love to share one of my stories of
having spent a memorable day with my group of friends which remains close to my
heart!
We were a group of friends living
together in a rented apartment at one corner of the Pune city. We had just
begun the second year of engineering and life had become even more hectic than
ever. The heat wave was strong and it was difficult to even walk out during the
afternoon. Among all the assignments, lab work and exams, we had no moment to
connect or speak to each other. I had just found the girl of my life, but due
to excessive work, I just wasn’t able to spend time with her. It was in these
moments, that we happened to get lucky and have an assignment free weekend for
ourselves. We roommates planned together to throw a party and invited all our
friends for a small get together night out at our place. It turned out to be
one of the best decisions ever. We arranged for the snacks and dinner, and soon
everyone assembled at our house. The music was set, all friends were there and
the party had begun but all I was waiting was for “her” to come to the party. I
was starting to get butterflies in my stomach, thinking she still might be
angry with me for not spending enough time with her. And as I was just about to
give up on all hopes, the doorbell rang and I rushed to the door. And there she
was! Dressed up in the top I had gifted her, with a beautiful smile on her
face. The party suddenly started to feel more alive. We laughed, we danced, we
played and there we were again, connecting to each other and feeling lucky to
have each other in our lives! It was fun to see her with me, her hands
entangled with mine…her hair falling on my face, and her sweet smell mesmerizing
me. Now, we stay apart In different cities, and have slowly drifted apart, but
it is the memory of these moments which keep me close to her even in the most
difficult of times.
That was my story of optimism
